The Nickelodeon Resort In Punta Cana
Before diving into the room review, let’s discuss what makes the Nickelodeon Resort an incredibly family-friendly destination. This all-inclusive resort caters to families in many ways, with the big draw being Aqua Nick, a Nickelodeon-themed water park. Guests of the resort have full access to the water park, sparkling pools, and a beautiful beach.
Popular Nickelodeon characters such as Sponge Bob, Paw Patrol, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles frequently make their appearance throughout the resort. Grab breakfast with Dora the Explorer in the morning, then participate in the signature Nickelodeon Orange Carpet event in the evening. Families can even sign up for a private slime time for an extra fee.
Club Nick offers adults a little time to themselves while the kids get to enjoy a kid’s club that only Nickelodeon could design. From Ninja Training to enjoying free play, kids can enjoy various activities with surprise character visits.
Accommodations At The Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana
A variety of accommodations are available at the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta Cana. Guests can choose to stay inside the luxurious Pineapple Suite that appears to have emerged right of out of Bikini Bottom or opt for a Flat Suite with a spacious balcony. From Swim-Up Suites to Pool Super Villas, there are many unique accommodations to choose from.
We opted for the Flat Swim-Up Suite, which can comfortably sleep two adults and three kids or three adults.
Getting To Your Swim-Up Suite
The Nickelodeon Resort greets all guests with a welcome drink, including slime smoothies for kids upon arrival. Your luggage will be taken from your transfer by the bellman and placed near the hotel entrance. Once you have completed your registration, each guest will be given an orange wristband. The wristband gets you into your room.
Once you have your room assignment step back outside near the hotel entrance, and the bellman will escort you to your room via golf cart with your luggage. They will assist you in finding your room and will bring all the luggage in for you.
TIP: Bring money for tips. They gladly accept US Dollars, so carry a variety of bills to use throughout your stay.
Inside The Flat Swim Up Suite
Walking into the Flat Swim Up Suite, we found it large and tastefully decorated. There was plenty of space to spread out, and best of all, it had access to the pool from our private terrace. Being able to hop in the pool from our hotel room was a remarkable experience.
The Swim-Up Terrace
I was initially nervous about having a swim-up terrace with our little gal, but I was relieved when I saw that there was a sliding gate that needed to be unlocked to access the poolside terrace. This extra layer of security was a huge relief, especially since the fold-out bed was near the sliding glass door.
Your private terrace is large, complete with a round day bed perfect for lounging: two chairs, an end table, and the signature Nickelodeon Blimp to round out your terrace furniture. A pool ladder can be used to access the pool unless you choose to jump right in! The pool that our swim-up suite was near was continuous to the swim-up bar and Fresco Restaurant.
TIP: The pool is 1.1 M deep or roughly 3 ft 7 inches. Be sure to bring floaties and goggles if your children need them.

A few rules for the Swim-Up Suite:
- There are set pool hours that vary by season.
- No food or drink are allowed in the pool.
- Kids must be supervised at all times.
- Your terrance can get slippery when wet.
- If you have an open wound, do not go swimming.
One huge perk of the swim-up-terrace is that if you have multiple kids, some can swim while others nap or have downtime. We found it was the perfect retreat when we didn’t want to pack up all of our things to go to the water park or the beach.
The Living Room
The large living room made it easy for our family of three to feel comfortable. The flat swim-up suite comfortably sleeps two adults and two kids with a king bed and the sleeper sofa.
There is a dining area in the living room which consists of a long narrow table with four benches against the wall. It is a nice feature to have when ordering room service and having snacks.
A large smart TV offers popular channels both in Spanish and English. During our visit, the remote batteries had died. However, we could adjust the TV from the buttons on the side.
There is a pull-out sofa bed, which can be a little tricky to convert back into a sofa during the day. All of the sheets and blankets have to be removed for it to fold down. The pull-out is just as comfortable as you imagine a pull-put sofa bed being, but it is ideal for kids.
TIP: If you or anyone you are traveling with gets cold easily at night, request a few extra blankets to be delivered. The A/C worked very well, and we were often chilly.
Room Service
Room Service is included during your stay and can be ordered on the TV. We opted to order a meal for lunch, which I do not recommend. I was disappointed in the food quality, and it took nearly an hour and a half to be delivered. The entrees we received were comparable to mediocre gas station food. It is quicker to pack the family up and walk to one of the nearby restaurants to grab a better meal.
The Master Bedroom
Relax in a luxurious king-size bed in the Master bedroom of the flat swim-up suite. The bedroom is connected to the living room and hallway with pocket doors to close for privacy. Here are a few things to know about the master bedroom:
- There is a glass wall connecting the Master and the bathroom. A retractable curtain can come down, but be sure you have it closed if you want privacy from others in your room.
- Look in the dresser if your comforter is not in the room after housekeeping.
- There is another Smart TV in the Master bedroom.
- Reading lights are on each side of the bed.
- The light switches can get a bit confusing. There is a master switch that controls all the lights in the suite.
- There is a radio/alarm clock docking station.
- A direct dialing telephone
Need housekeeping services? Press the button by the entrance to let housekeeping know not to pass you by for daily service or turndown service.
The Marble Bathroom
Take a long relaxing soak in the free-standing tub or rinse off in the shower; either way, this suite has you and your family covered. The bathroom is stocked with an amenity kit, hairdryer, and vanity mirror. There is also a double sink, and the toilet is in with a private space with a door.
Tip: The control switch to the retractable curtain is in the bathroom.
More Amenities in The Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana Flat Swim Up Suite
Upon entering the suite, a long hallway conjoins all the rooms. In the hallway, there is plenty of storage and dresser space along with:
- A safety deposit box
- Two plush bathrobes
- A mini-bar that is re-stocked once a day. The mini-bar contains a few cans of Presidente beer, a couple of bottles of Coke, two bags of crackers, juice boxes, and a few cookies.
- Iron and Ironing board
- A coffee maker.
- Umbrella to use around the property.
- Pool towels
Kid-Friendly Extras
Nickelodeon prides itself on catering to kids; this includes their littlest guests. Families can request complimentary cribs, strollers, bottle warmers, and baby food. You can even order kid robes to be delivered to the room.
How To Find The Best Deal On A Flat Swim-Up Suite
Traveling during the off-season will be your best bet on finding incredible deals on Flat Swim-Up Suites at Nickelodeon Resort In Punta Cana.
- The rainy season starts in May and runs till November. During the offseason, hurricane season is in full force, so plan accordingly if you decide to book during this time. It is the low season so tourist resorts will often offer great deals during this period.
- The best time to visit Punta Cana is April-May, when the country sees fewer crowds. This shoulder season yields good weather and cheaper rates on accommodations.
- Often it will be cheaper to book directly through the resort without paying third-party fees and services. However, it never hurts to compare prices to ensure you are getting the best deal. Here is the Booking.com link for Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana .
- Check with your local travel agent. They are a wealth of knowledge and can find the best deal for your family at no added cost to you.
Tip: Sign up for emails from the Nickelodeon Resort. That way, you will see any specials or offers that the resort offers. For example, they were running a half-off special over Spring Break.
Another budget tip is to purchase any SpongeBob merchandise prior to arriving at the resort. While the souvenirs are nice, they are way cheaper in the United States.
Final Thoughts
We have been spoiled with the Flat Swim-Up Suite. I never realized how much I would enjoy a swim-up suite until we stayed in one, especially with kids in tow. Being able to relax in the Caribbean sun on our terrace with immediate access to the pool was incredible. It is worth the splurge.
Especially not having to rush to find a lounger at the pool or pack up all our swim gear each time we wanted to go for a swim.
Keep snacks in the room, so it is easy to serve hungry swimmers on the terrace, then go back to sunbathing in the daybed.
I love that the Nickelodeon Resort charges by night, not per person. It made it much more affordable for visiting with a family.
